NBI Clearance in less than an hour

Reading blogs really helps. I did this one because I want to update on how NBI Clearance can be claimed outright.

Step 1: Fill up the NBI Online application form. For the link:  http://nbi.njis-ph.com/. Print this form and have it with you the day you decide to get your clearance.

Step 2: Go to Robinsons Otis in Level 2 Guanzon St., Paco, Manila. According to blogs, this is where to go for a shorter line. Make sure to be early. The mall opens at exactly 10:00 AM so be sure before it opens, you are there. In my case, I arrived 9:30. :)

The online applicants have a separate line than those who are "walk ins". The line for this can be found at the left where Starbucks and National bookstore is. DO NOT ENTER THE MALL EVEN IF IT OPENS. YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR THE GUARD WHO WILL FETCH THE LINE. This is very important because I entered the mall and proceeded to the satellite office and was told to wait for the last in line. "Singitan" here is a big issue. Never try to do so because you will be jeopardize. People who are in line are told to keep their eyes who makes singit.

The guard will then instruct you to sat in chairs allotted for online applicants. These applicants are served first because the walk-in applicants must fill their application sheet before they can proceed to payment.

Step 3: Wait for the signal of the guard that you can pay for the clearance. It's Php115 for local employment, not sure though where is Php 400 for. Pay the exact amount so that you can expedite the process.

Step 4: Line up for biometrics and picture taking. This will take you 5 minutes or so. The advantage of having online application is that you need not to encode the details of your application.

Step 5: Sat on the chairs provided just for those who are waiting for releasing of the clearance. This will take you 10-15 minutes waiting. Wait your name to be called and VIOLA! You have your clearance! If your name was found "HIT", you will be advised to come back after a week.

How to get to Robinson's Otis?

I am great commuter. I prefer commuting than riding a cab because I can save some penny :) And I can learn how to get in other places too!

If you have access to the LRT, better. Ride LRT1 and go to UN station. If you are from  Caloocan or Quezon City, you need to cross the street and look for tricycle going to OTIS. I have read in the blogs that you need to look for the yellow tricycle but can find one. There was a signage saying "Sakayan ng Otis sa may McDo" but I don't knew McDo either. So I decided to approach the tricycle driver and ask how much would be the fare to Robinsons Otis. He said Php 40 but I haggled it to 30. Not bad. :)

Going back to LRT, there are also RED tricycles in queue outside the mall but if you choose to ride the cab, you can call for taxis because there was no taxi bay in the area.

The NBI Clearance Satellite Offices Paranormal Experiences

I recently needed the service of NBI. Since I came from province, I thought of getting the clearance because I thought there will be less lines, less hustle. I am wrong with this one.

I came up early, about 7AM in NBI Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija. I saw pool of people. Feeling hopeless, I went thru the door and ask the agent that immediately approached me. And so I ask, "how do I get a clearance?" The agent told me that I am late because the giving of queue number is at 5AM. Duh???? And so I asked him again, "What time does your office operates?" "8AM Ma'am," he replied. Then how come the giving of the queue number is at 5AM? He even told me that they have reached the cut-off. Whatever that means, I turned my back and decided not to pursue getting the clearance from here.

I rode a tricycle and planned to go to Tarlac, a nearby province with which I am getting my clearance for four years already. With my emotions, I told the tricycle driver what happened to me in the NBI. He assured me that I am not the first person to feel that way. He even told me that if I can approach a fixer then I could have the clearance then and then. The usual clearance for local employment or ID purposes costs Php 115.00 but when a fixer comes in, the price would be Php 300. For me, the price is just fine because you need not to wait long just to get your clearance but deep inside me, my ego prevails. I cannot tolerate those fixers. I can the NBI clearance in my own!

I came to Tarlac, it took me almost two hours because it's traffic. The NBI Tarlac office was really different compared to NBI Cabanatuan. People are lined up in chairs. All sat, non of them are standing. One employee was deployed to assist them and one was announcing names of those who have got the clearance already. I approached the one announcing and he told me that they have reached the cut off. I asked him what does your "cut-off" means and he told me politely that the NBI offices are only allotted to release 500 clearances in a day. He even advised me to start my online application thru the NBI website and return on the following day for which I cannot afford to because I needed the clearance on Monday.

Depressed. I called my classmate and told her the experiences I had. Surprisingly, she had the same experience in Alabang but she got her clearance because she already did the online application and that she is #125. And I am number #501, fuck!
